Would you like to learn how to implement educational services for young children with autism? Project DATA (Developmentally Appropriate Treatment for Autism), a school-based program for young children with autism, has over 20 years of research, testing and refinement and has been replicated in schools across the country. Participants will leave this workshop with practical tools for immediate classroom use. Topics covered include an overview of autism, assessing children with autism using the Project DATA Skills Checklist, instructional programming, progress monitoring, family support and collaboration.

Julie began working in child care centers and preschool classrooms in 1995. She has been a Project DATA teacher and coordinator, a professional development research assistant and trainer, a family resource coordinator and is currently an education specialist with the Professional Development and Training Team at the University of Washington’s Haring Center. Julie has a master's degree in education, with an emphasis in early childhood special education, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Julie specializes in working with children with neurodevelopmental delays, including autism, and has worked with families and educators. Her research focuses on assessment and intervention practices for inclusive school based programs for children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.
